Review on ๐Ÿ”ง Onan Carburetor Kit for Cummins 5410765 by Chris Pollreisz

Great suggestion and it fixed the issue

We bought our new (for us at least) motorhome in March 2016. It was apparent that the dealership was not running the generator (Onan 5500 Marquis Gold HGJAB-901D) in the winter as the bus's batteries (installed 6 months ago) were dead from frost and there was virtually no gas on the bus. At first the generator didn't start, but the dealer managed to do it. Unfortunately things got worse. It will jump and spatter, especially at over 15 amps (rated at 45 amps). After some research on the internet it turned out that the carburettor had to be replaced as it could not be rebuilt. So, in anticipation of a long "outback" I decided to replace the carburetor with a new one. With a great price and delivery within two days I decided to take a chance and see if this new carb solves the problem. WOW! After spending about 15 minutes installing it, I started the generator, turned on all the current in the car and bumped it up to 40 amps. There wasn't even a hint of hesitation or hesitation. I checked the voltage, it was 120 AC. It purred like a new alternator, which it should have done after 400 hours of use. So all the advice on the net about replacing the carburetor is absolutely correct. If you have some mechanical skills and basic tools, this was a very easy install and could save you a bunch of bucks. You can also search the internet for videos showing how to replace it. I'm a happy tourist again! Also, don't forget to check the generator monthly when not in use. We did this with our old RV and it never gave us any problems.
