Inexpensive self-repair of a defective transmitter module on my 2007 pilot key.

My 2007 pilot key transmitter burned out so I bought it to get a radio module. A working key consists of two parts. The first part is programming the key fob to lock/unlock the doors and activate the panic button. The written instructions are correct. They tell you to switch the ignition key between two positions. There is a video on YouTube showing where to find these positions on the ignition switch. Although they are clearly marked, watching the video made them easier to find. The process is pretty simple. However, I recommend watching the video. In the second part you need a locksmith to cut the key. I believe he should also put a chip in the key and program it to match your car. I could see this chip on my old key but it seems to be missing from this part, I skipped this part as I didn't have to cut the key. All I wanted was a new radio to replace the broken one on my old one. Button. I programmed the radio and transferred it to my old key which already has the cutout and chip I wanted. Works perfectly.
