My safe is in a garage where humidity and cold are a possibility. I have a heater rod but if it will help protect my SA from rusting?

My safe is in a garage where damp and cold are possible, I have a heater but if they help keep my safe from rusting that's good. None of my guns have had rust for many years. I clean them once a year whether I use them or not and haven't found any rust yet.
