Did not require programming to work with my Element Revain Fire Smart TV. However, most functions do not work. It turns the TV on and off, jumps to most apps and sections, and the volume buttons work. The Pause, Play, and Fast Forward/Rewind buttons do not always work correctly. When I know a specific movie I want to watch, I usually use a dot to find and play it so I don't have to fiddle with the remote. It's still better than spending $60 for a genuine replacement like the one that came with the TV.
