I've been looking for a decent and inexpensive close-up notepad for a long time. The surface is ideal for dealing cards and coins. I've found that many pads don't work well with coins, so this always bothers me. I also like the large size. I'm used to working on a more or less standard 12x17 notepad, now I can create quite a few cards without some of the cards falling over the edge. The notebook was rolled into a tube and pulled out again after a few seconds. take it out of the box. It looks very good and I look forward to using it at my next gig.
