As my title suggests - Unfortunately I don't have the perfect ceiling required to get the 'optimal' speaker performance from Dolby Atmos modules. But hey. I knew about it. Despite this, I decided to buy Atmos speakers. ELAC Atmos speakers sit above a pair of ELAC Debut 2.0 F6.2 speakers. My system is installed in my living room with a high ceiling. Will Atmos speakers work with a cathedral ceiling? I think they do. Do I think they work as well as if I had a perfectly flat top at the optimal height for optimal sound? Of course not! But you have to work with what you have. Not everyone looking to upgrade their home theater system has the perfect spot to place their equipment, but they still want the best possible sound. My detailed point of view is this. If you really need a set of powerful Atmos speakers but don't have the perfect spot to put them, don't worry about what others think. Just buy a pair. You won't get "optimal" sound, but you'll get a better listening experience.
