Review on 🚲 Enhance Kids Bicycles with Easy-to-Install Handlebar Accessories - Suitable for All Kids Bikes by James Gregg

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good but not the best in the kids accessories category

A few weeks ago I bought an 18 inch Hot Wheels bike for my oldest child (he helped me choose). I put it together and immediately he and my youngest loved the twist grip that came with this bike. I went to Revain then and there to buy one to put on another bike my youngest child had inherited (a lovely 16 inch bike that only the big brother used for a couple of years) and stumbled about this. I saw some negative reviews but decided it was worth the $10 risk. After putting it on I'm generally happy with it, but it's not perfect - but for a small child they only seem to care that it makes noise. Pros - I like the sound it makes. Other people don't, and I can understand that. I think the sound is more reminiscent of a loud motorcycle, while the other (the one from the Hot Wheels bike) is more reminiscent of a race car. The sound on this one doesn't last long and you have to crank it a few times to get sustained noise, but again I feel like it just adds style to the bike and I encourage letting my kid use it the whole way time. I like that it doesn't require batteries as it will likely last longer and I don't have to worry about battery juice. Hot wheel bike and pretty basic. Not a huge complaint but I don't think they put much effort into the styling. Second, and this is where I'm actually disappointed, but that's not crucial for me, is that the sensor function doesn't work. It will not go beyond number 1. I now knew this could be an issue when buying and figured it wouldn't make much of a difference with my youngest child, and I was right. I will say I don't think this will be used next year so I guess this broken feature will never be an issue. Now if you buy it for someone around the age of 6 they might notice and wonder why it doesn't work and then the novelty factor quickly disappears. I think this is a good toy to add to a bike. Both kids are enjoying theirs and if the sensor is working properly I would give it 5 stars. Even with the mediocre looks and the need to crank it up a bit for sustained noise (again, no minus for me) if you can get it with a good sensor (or if you're like me and think it's not) , it seems to be a good buy.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
