Pros: - Fine mesh opening to keep solids out. - Opens at both ends for easy cleaning. - Robust construction. Cons: - Too small to make a great cup of tea. In order to most effectively extract the aroma from loose tea leaves/spices, the leaves must have room to absorb/desorb water and disperse the aromas. The rule of thumb I've found works best for the types of tea leaves I use: the volume of the tea infuser should be 3-4 times the volume of the tea leaves in dry form. Since we love strong tea, this means we should use at least one tablespoon of dry tea per large cup. A couple of tablespoons for a teapot. The volume of these tea balls is sufficient for an 8-12 ounce cup of tea. They are too small for a 16-24 oz cup of tea. Based on the photos and the description I thought they were larger than what was actually delivered. There is nothing physically defective about these tea ball brewers. They appear to be well made and have all the qualities you would want in a tea infuser (except for volume). If you want to make a small cup of tea, they're great. They are also easy to clean after use. They just don't work for the application I bought them for.
