I use it for both work and personal use. I work in corporate facilities and manage multiple buildings. This device helps the slum owners and keeps them honest. I found water damage in one of our buildings, which in turn helped us identify mold problems from a leaking roof. Really priceless. I have also used this camera to troubleshoot electronics in the office. Balance ventilation and air conditioning systems. energy audits. There is no insulation in the walls. Now I carry this camera with me everywhere. You can use the phone app to view thermal images and make minor changes to reports. However, if you import your image to your PC and want to use FLIR software, you get a lot more functionality with your thermal images. However, thermal video cannot be edited. I really wish you could. I also wish the battery life was better than 1 hour. That, or FLIR can build devices that charge while you use them. You can still charge while the system is on, but FLIR does not recommend this. Personally, I would like to be able to connect an external battery to the camera or swap batteries. But anyway, this tool is nice to have. Revised from 4 star rating to 1 star rating: This camera worked with my LG V30 running a Snapdragon 835 processor. The FLIR site states that the 835 is not compatible with the FLIR One Pro. I have no idea what happened but I was able to use my FLIR One Pro right away today. Nothing. The camera is not recognized by my mobile phone. From time to time I can get the camera to work with my phone but this happens after turning the FLIR One Pro off and on and off a few times and it randomly reconnects when the camera is on my phone's display is directed. . This means I can't get a preview of the camera image when recording, I can only take a "selfie" with the camera this way. I would welcome a clear list of phones that are and aren't compatible. It's nice to know that I paid $300 for a camera that won't work with my smartphone due to FLIR's fine print tactics. The product must be listed as "Works with SOME Android USB-C Phones" and clearly state incompatible phones. Well, there's a sucker born every minute. I think I learned my lesson on FLIR. Update: The FLIR camera is working again. It looks like Android has updated its operating system which has caused compatibility issues with the FLIR app and some phones. I don't think that's acceptable. This device is advertised as a tool and if it stops working then it is a problem.
