Sure, the leds and patterns and community animations are cool. The app is terrible. The android app had a ton of bugs and iOS app was nowhere to be found. Not even linked on the website or in the manual. I found it off of a google search in some forum. They have different apps for different Divoom devices and its all very un-inviting.Could it be better? Yes. Could you make custom animations? Yes. Is it worth it as a speaker and alarm clock? Yes. Other than that, drop your expectations to the minimum. Community clock faces would be something I'd look forward to because you're limited to just one that is good and legible. Alarm settings are good and have worked regularly. Weather and temperature display don't really work like you would imagine. If you want all these capabilities in one product look somewhere else. If you want a fancy alarm clock that works and a bluetooth speaker, go for it.
