I have removed and installed shock absorbers several times. I've mostly used a shop press and lately at the track some cheap spring compressors as a last resort. Spring compressors are risky, but they work. The shop press worked well but was a bit bulky and obviously not portable. I saw this tool and decided to try it. Annual rear shock service is a good idea (as are the forks). Removing the spring can pose an obstacle to this task. This tool makes spring removal quick and easy. If you want or need to regularly service shock absorbers or dampers, using this tool makes the job quick, safe and easy.
