Update: Holds big cats too

UPDATE: I've had it since July. My fat cat found a way to fit this thing anywhere. He even sleeps in flats and the fabric holds up to his daily stretches. It "fits" into the apartment - that's a vague term. His legs hang down when he lies down and when he lies down the fabric stretches a little. Withstood him and he attacks and parks him on a daily basis, and he also withstands the fact that he's literally clinging to his side and pushing himself up for no reason. He sleeps in the top bunk every night and in the apartment during the day. Recently he decided he likes the basket and she kind of holds it without bending down and he pushed in imposingly. Added new photos to show how old he is. Also cleans well. This is a good typical scratching post. However, it is designed for my 6 lb cat, not my 17 lb cat. It's stable enough for my big cat, the platforms just aren't wide enough and the flats aren't high enough for him, although he doesn't care and prefers to fit in because he absolutely loves the scratching post. The base is quite heavy, so a big cat won't affect the stability of the trees. This is a typical cheap scratching post. The fabric is soft but definitely won't last more than a year or two. Smells like a glue gun. Directions work but aren't ideal as some things clear up at odd times. For example both apartments are very similar but not the same, the installation plan of the first apartment does not indicate in any way which apartment to use until the next page when it comes to the second apartment. Little things that might make work difficult for some. I put this scratching post up in about an hour and a half, being physically handicapped it was pretty easy.
