I bought the XL for my 8 yr old but it’s too short. It covers her butt but doesn’t even reach her mid thigh. She is about 42in tall. Quality-wise, it’s pretty good. There are a two layers over the satin lining. It’ll poof out a short short dress if that’s what you are looking for. We wanted it under her dress that was a couple inches above her knees but because the skirt was too short, the butt portion proofed out while the bottom of her dress laid flat. Sadly, it didn’t work for us
