Review on Chemical Guys MIC_495 Microfiber Sponge by Rich Schobinger

Revainrating 5 out of 5

SUPER absorbent, soft, durable construction + wide elastic band

FEATURES: Very SUPER absorbent, very soft yet durable and just the right size - plus a comfortable, snug and wide elastic band that different sizes allows hands to hold the sponge on slippery surfaces. FIVE STARS! DETAILS: Although I wasn't sure if I would really need them, I bought two of these wonderful chenille sponges to wash our St. Bernard puppy. As it turned out, especially at 4 months old and already 50lbs of wavy fluffy fun, having something ultra-absorbent to wet them, shampoo and rinse them was just the ticket! Like human babies of a certain age, the pup likes everything in its mouth these days - plus it LOVES playing with the hose, especially when it's watering out! In the summer, the garden hose worked great for washing dirty paws and the like with the hose. . But soon after her first real bath, she realized that wetting her body with a hose and spraying the shampoo directly on the dog (he's obviously ticklish!) wasn't going to help. I quickly switched to two separate buckets - one for soapy water and one with clean water for rinsing, and a sponge for each - and decided these sponges were just what I needed. worked great for getting her completely wet (including under her belly and various lower areas) - and making sure all the shampoo was rinsed off thoroughly. With my womanly palms and unfortunately fat fingers, the soft stretch band on the microfiber side, my arthritic hands found these sponges easy to hold, including the slippery, soapy ones as I shampooed my entire body and then scrubbed some areas of her white fur a little covered in dirty clothes in their backyard adventures. I have found this to be much more convenient and effective than using different items with straps designed for the same purpose. Both sides of the sponge are "covered" (the long side of the chenille as well as the microfiber side) and the band also seems to be quite durable, both in terms of the materials and more importantly the stitching that connects these parts stick together I understand most people buy them to wash cars, not dogs, but I think all of the features that have proven useful to me washing my pup are equally applicable to washing cars. These sponges get my hearty 5 star rating. If you're thinking of buying one (or two, or ten!) for any purpose, you certainly won't be disappointed!
