This is an incredible price for a beginner planning cruising or ice skating. The boots are very comfortable and well lined, so don't worry about them breaking. At the same time, the padding does not weigh down the boot. Compared to beach bunnies or leopard print Moxi boots, Impala boots are feather light and MUCH more flexible. That means better maneuverability and speed. The wheels are decent, but the finger rests wear out quickly outdoors. I would swap the bearings immediately. After about a month of aggressive outdoor riding, my boots started tearing in several places. The tongue is split in half and there are deep tears where the rubber sole meets the vinyl portion of the boot. The same thing happened to my leopard print Moxi skates, but not within two years. These are probably the best skates you can get for $100.
