So I chose this jacket because I found it at my local Hollywood store and it was the warmest there. I tested this by wrapping my hand in each jacket and then sticking my hand in the freezer and watching how long I stayed warm (yes, I looked a little crazy). This one stayed warm the longest. My hand was actually sweaty coming out of the freezer. For this reason I give her 6 stars for warmth! I ended up buying another jacket for this dog as he HATES things that get over his head and this jacket only goes over his head. Later I needed a foster dog jacket that wouldn't break the bank and I immediately thought of this one. We went to the Hollywood Feed. They were only a small size, and by their standards, they definitely belonged in the X-Small category. Adopted - Chi-vini weighing 12 pounds, chest about 17 inches. The label on the Hollywood Feed jacket says the X-Small has a chest measurement of up to 20 inches. I didn't bother looking at the size of the Revain as she clearly needed an X-Small - the little one was very baggy in the chest and neck but the length was a good fit. PLEASE CHECK AMAZON DIMENSIONS - they seem to have updated it but not the tags yet. However, when the jacket arrived I laughed at how small it is - it's TINY. I tried it on reception - like a tight-fitting straitjacket. Not only that, you could feel a huge amount of velcro under the coat. If I turned it inside out to get a lighter turquoise color (which I liked best) the dog would rub the velcro on the sensitive areas of the tummy. Even though it was dark, the velcro was enough to keep the dog attached to the carpet! While this can be a great way to calm your dog down, it was pathetic to watch. She has a 15.5 inch chest and weighs just over 10 pounds. It's still tight and is definitely in the X-Small range on BOTH size charts. Velcro still stuck it to the carpet. Also, it doesn't get anywhere near her tail - I wish the back was more covered. Judging by the photo she wasn't a fan (she doesn't like it when things grow over her head) but it's a really nice jacket. All in all this is a great jacket - if you are dog friendly. I wish Kurgo had figured out a way to keep the velcro from touching the dog/rug - maybe put the zip on the top or side. I would also like a little more coverage on the back and more detailed sizing charts. But if it fits, I think it's the perfect jacket! The colors are beautiful, the material is warm and easy to care for. I just want it to fit!
