First I checked all the connections. Everything worked and all cables fit. The adapter cable is thick and fits well with the ports on my MacBook. The hub appears to be aluminum. I've used a few of them before they get hot if you use them for a long time. However, I edited a few photos on the attached drive, and while it did get hot (as you'd expect), it never got hot. It was good. If the color bothers you, it looks like it would probably go with the gray MacBook. It was a little darker than my silver one as you can see from my photos. I don't know what the point of USB 2.0 ports is either. Why not make them all USB 3.0 instead of just half? No deal breaker. All in all, I have no regrets and will never need a USB-C hub again.
