I have compared this multi camera surveillance system to other leading competitors. As a technician, I studied its specifications in detail and came to the conclusion that this is the best wireless system for protecting small and large houses. After completing the physical installation, I turned on the NVR and then the four cameras. They paired in minutes and displayed a crisp image on a 4K monitor. The new 13-page user manual (provided later) provides clear instructions. A 2 terabyte (TB) drive is sufficient for most applications, although larger internal drives are available when exceptional storage is required. For the device described here, 2TB was enough to store 14 days of 24/7 operation at a frame rate of around 10 frames per second (fps) and a high sensitivity setting. In two weeks of storage I used about 1.75 TB. Using IP Pro (Apple's app) the display on my iPhone was flawless whether I'm looking from the US, Europe or the UK. Backing up a period of time to a PC or flash drive was easy. As advice to other users, great care should be taken when estimating signal loss through building structures (walls, closets, windows, etc.). The power output of the camera is limited by law, and the location and orientation of the camera are critical for both the NVR and the cameras. Solid brick walls are particularly difficult and some installations may require additional reinforcement. Do not let the cameras look directly at the sun: this can burn sensitive optics. In summary, SMONET's technical service and support is excellent, especially compared to other products, and Ms. Huang's support has been very helpful.
