I learned about spice dabbas while learning some Indian cooking techniques recently. These are great tools and I'm surprised they aren't well known in the US. I use two of them. One for the seeds and other spices I use at the beginning of cooking and one for the spices I use later in the meal. It's a great system and a lot more convenient than rummaging through your closet for spice bottles. This does not only apply to Indian cuisine.
