I have a moderately active dog and an 18 lb dachshund. I like to take my medium sized dog for longer walks but the dachshund can't keep up with her either and I hate to leave her at home so I took this bandage with me. I wasn't able to use the sling and walk the other dog at the same time (we have to hold the sling while walking to keep her stable in it) but when I went camping with the group we used the sling, and when she grew tired, a person carried her in a sling. There is a strap at the top to fix the dog, which is convenient for me. She loves being carried in it, her head fits perfectly so she can face out or lean it against her side. Underneath is a stiff material that helps the leash hold its shape, but it still folds. It doesn't lie in the line as expected, I thought it would run the full length of the line, but instead it folds like an accordion and ends up lying vertically across the line because the line folds under weight. A big dog won't fit in there, but it works well, it's light.
