My kitten is about 12 years old and skinny as a pant. She is and always has been the smallest cat I have ever seen. She was a feral kitten who was born in our backyard and tried to fend for herself from day one; she didn't have the normal "feline disposition". The other cats nibbled at this little dwarf, and she barely licked or bit her food after all the other hungry savages had finished eating. She must have realized that she would be safer if she went indoors, as some other savages sometimes did at night. She came and stayed! She avoided other cats and adults in the home, but ate leftover cat food, used the litter box, and lived as a recluse. I didn't pay much attention to Catch for a few years while I was with the FT and then I retired and moved to a foster home where I took Catch and two other cats with me. Although the number of cats decreased, she avoided the other two cats; and ate the last bite. I thought she needed a supplement to increase her health and well-being and help her come out of her shell. I bought a KMR Stage 2 at a pet food store and suggested Catch. She grabbed it right away and I've been giving it to her every day since. She's "filled in" a bit, but is still thin; she lets me pet her and enjoys it. She has clear eyes, shiny short hair and Lovi is one lucky cat! She still shows some of her wild tendencies ie. I will not pick her up or touch her paws or stomach. I watched as she licked up her milk and began feeding her very soft food that was well mixed with a teaspoon of water. She ate her solid food and ate more than usual. I have come to the conclusion that feral kittens are developmentally delayed and require stage 2 CMR throughout their lives, very soft food, patience and lots of love.
