- Price The cost of these three sheets (per sheet) is less than two sets of HF. Having two backups is more useful than one. Use Case I am using a Bauer (64194) variable speed band saw along with an aftermarket knife making table. Cutting Materials: 80crv2, 1095 and 8670 steel (annealed), brass tubing (solid and hollow), stainless steel shank, carbon fiber tube/rod, micarta tube/rod, flat brass shank. . It performed well on brass tube/rod/flat bar and 80crv2. The stainless steel rod slowed the saw and made a bang on the teeth. The edge of the 8670 bar appears to have hardened when cut at the supplier, so cutting from the side required some effort. Conclusion Overall, these bandsaws are at least comparable to those I've used in the past. If there are no problems in the future, I will use them exclusively. The first blade isn't broken yet, but is a bit dull. I would recommend cutting into softer materials before moving on to something harder. Use low speeds and cutting oil when cutting hard or thick materials. Good luck to you all, stay healthy. 4 stars so far, will adjust to 5 if the first blade survives the next cutting sessions.
