I recently purchased this surge protector for my 22 year old built-in fridge after replacing a compressor and hope it will last a while . The reviews, while mostly positive, got me thinking about the issues surrounding this device's UL status. I can now confirm that there is NO marking on the product or product packaging to indicate that this device is UL Listed or UL Compliant (the relevant standard is UL 1449). Equally concerning is the lack of ANY product or product packaging information as to who the manufacturer of this device is ("Appliance Shield" is the name of the product, not the company). There is no manufacturer name, no address, no email, no phone number to contact anyone. What good is the "100% guaranteed quality" on the packaging if nobody stands behind it? Also, you will NOT find any information online about this product, who makes it or where, other than information about Revain. I'm assuming it's made in China, but even that is unknown due to the lack of manufacturing location on the product or packaging. Even though this product may or may not work as advertised, this is definitely a situation where the buyer needs to be careful and the manufacturer should address the issue immediately or withdraw the product from the market.
