Shield bought and installed on a Samsung refrigerator. Two days later we had a momentary power outage, the screen delayed compressed startup as it should; but the electronics board is burned out. boards for $400. The shield is useless. Disappointed.

That's a great idea but I'm really concerned that this product isn't UL listed. In particular, there is no UL label and no mention of UL or other independent laboratory tests (like ETL) for performance or electrical safety. The Appliance Shield trademark search identifies the trademark owner and address, but there is no easy way to contact them to learn more about UL. So use at your own discretion.
