To be clear I've only used it a couple of times. It worked great for what I needed. 3 warnings. At the same time I bought a separate foot switch. I used oil mixed according to package directions. And I added a piece of double density filter material to isolate the pump. The footswitch was suggested by another buyer in their review. To me, another $15-20 for the switch was a small price to pay for such a big difference in usability. I went with a short term derailleur, but you could probably splurge and get a variable speed pedal. Anyhow, do yourself a favor. I hope using a water based degreaser will help extend the life of the pump. The filter material is another measure to protect the pump. This also makes it easier to remove the pump for storage. I don't let the pump submerge.
