These sanitary fittings are available in several quality levels. This definitely belongs in the cheap consumer class, but it's not that bad. When the previous model started leaking, I found it convenient to replace it with a new one. I got seven years of very good service for about $35 or something? If it was brass hardware worth over $100 I would fix it. Maybe a philosophical decision, but I'm happy with the result. Disadvantages are few and small. The faucet feels soft and flexible - it gives the impression that it can be easily detached. The replacement took about an hour due to the difficult access under the sink - I removed the entire sink and this was the best answer. I prefer two handles to one - makes more sense to me.
