UPDATE: 25 APRIL 2014 - Still loving this light box. PST. from one quilt to another, if you are new to quilting or appliqué, do it now. You will not regret it. I bought it from a big hobby chain and only because one day I was lucky enough to get a 50% discount coupon. They cost over $100 and I don't see them as worth it. I use mine for quilting/drawing appliqué and I LOVE it for that. OMG, much easier than standing by the window trying to follow while leaning to the side! Either way, it's a nice, simple box. To be honest I've never had one like this so I really don't have anything to compare it to. Its very bright, hard to see straight ahead until I place a piece of paper on a lighted surface. It doesn't flicker at all. I had a hard time turning it on (and turning it ON) at first, until I realized that I only had to hold the power button for a second or two for the light to come on fully. You'll find out all of this pretty quickly. The description of this item here on Revain is not entirely accurate. This model does not have a pen/pencil holder. It's just a box with a power cord and a power switch. Point. The plastic finish (at least on mine) doesn't dangle at all. There's no carrying handle, unless you're {bad} like me and using this heavy-duty power cord: 0 It doesn't get hot. Or even warm, what can I say. I don't use it very long Half an hour at most, so I can't swear by it. I've only had him for about a month. and I've used it two or three times and I'm still on my honeymoon with it; I still put it back in the plastic bag it came in and back in the box when I'm done. I'm sure it will pass with time :) Overall I would highly recommend this item IF like me you can find it at a reasonable price. There must be something in technology that I don't understand. Why are things so expensive. Lightbulb in box? Thomas Edison must have crossed this bridge at least once. like me. There must be something in technology that I don't understand.
