Although the packaging says they meet Coast Guard requirements, I have some doubts about that. Some numbers and letters are so narrow that they are very difficult to decipher from a distance. They may be suitable for a jet ski, but not for a yacht. I ended up going to West Marine for traditional numbers after deciding I couldn't use them. Here is an image of an example of the letters/numbers in my registry. The ones from this kit are on the bottom row and the ones I used are on the top row. The seven is particularly tight.
