I was upgrading my non working fireplace and it was an inexpensive way to get a real flame. The glass heats up but prevents the dog/child from throwing itself into the flames. The screws were a bit loose but I buried them in fireproof glass so there was no problem. I bought a wick which adds to the overall price but extends the life of the fuel and gives a good flame. Good stuff, I'm glad I bought it.
