Review on Adjustable LED Flood Light With Motion Sensor: Amico 3-Head Security Light, 40W, 4000LM, 5000K, IP65 Waterproof For Garage, Yard (White) by Durward Carlson

These lights are very nice except one problem (some others complained about too) is that they only seem to work in test mode. I figured out the issue here. The light sensor is way too sensitive. My neighborhood is dark except for a neighbor 60+ feet away has a small porch light. Just the light from that is enough to make the light on my house think it's daytime. I figured this out because when I cover the light sensor with my finger it works but when I don't it only works in test mode. I also verified that these sensors don't detect IR light from cameras (I have a bunch). So to fix this I will put some sort of film over the light sensor. They're so sensitive that even a single layer of painter's tape isn't enough. But you shouldn't need to totally black them out either. Now why am I keeping these lights? They're the brightest 3 head lights I could find.I did have to send one back because it stopped working after a heavy rain. But the replacement came within 24 hours and it's simple to hook these up so I didn't mind. Obviously if it happens again I'll re-evaluate.Update: I added a small piece of electrical tape covering 3/4ths of the light sensor. Motion detector triggers at night even when the neighbor's (or my own) porch light is on.Update #2: I also had a problem where my neighborhood power went out and when it came back on the lights (which I have permanently wired on) were stuck on and wouldn't go off. Even turning the power off for 5+ seconds and on again did not fix it. But the lights reset themselves and started working normally when the sun came up.
