Everything works as it should. Just take your time and make sure you have good lighting. Be sure to open the cover on the side of the light strip 90 degrees before inserting the light strip. Also remove the tape from the back of the light strip. I forgot a connection but it still worked. On the wire side, make sure the wires are properly routed into the brass grooves before splicing them together. I had a wire that didn't light up and this resulted in one color not lighting up. Through the cap it was clear that a wire was wrong. I simply unclipped the cover, moved the wire, and snapped the cover back on. Works perfectly.
