The main advantage is that the material is durable and retains odors. I don't think the length is the same as before - they seem to need replacing more often than before. I used to get 6-9 bags of each but now more than 4. It seems like an odd decision to make a poop bag out of a transparent material. This lets you spend more money putting it in another bag before taking it to the bin (both to make it less unsightly to open the bin later and to reduce the shameful walk associated with it). associated with carrying a bag of feces around the home).
