Review on πŸ”’ Rubber Coated Hitch Tightener: Anti Rattle Solution for Quiet, Wobble-Free Towing by Cody Bowie

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Purchased for use with double extension and cargo trailer hitch

Purchased for use with Erickson Cargo Transporter 07496 with sidewalls (folding, 500lb load capacity) First use - only used ball hitch for 5/ x trailers earlier (unfortunately I was aware of this issue at the time Not). Here is the setup So I bought mine from the Amazon warehouse - like new condition. NO! There were no support arms - bolts and bolts. Well I needed one with sides for a trip in 2 weeks so I had no choice and bought a separate one that had no sides but came with a foldable mount. I'm a woman with small hands and multiple sclerosis, but thanks to the impact wrench I bought here from Revain, with a little ingenuity and using the missing parts of the second I was able to get the best of both worlds. Not only do the sides fold down, I can fold down the entire hitch and ride it several hundred miles in the wilderness. So there were other modifications. I bought a HAUL-MASTER dual clutch extension from Harbor Freight ($33) so I wouldn't have to worry about exhaust issues or my exhaust would blow right on it. Inch Hitches, Anti-rattle for a smooth, no-sway ride, all cars and CZC AUTO Hitch Tensioner, Heavy-Duty Stabilizer for 1.25" and 2" Hitch) and are honestly equivalent. One of the issues you see in the photos was the dual clutch extension, which doesn't have much room for the tensioner to snap into place. So I tried using Quik Steel Epoxy (JB Weld prefers that brand for example) to stabilize it and then removed it. I then decided to buy an impact wrench as I needed a 24mm socket for parts from another hitch. I also bought a CargoLoc footboard 32507 for the second stage. Do yourself a favor and buy an impact wrench BEFORE you assemble this - I bought an impact wrench, ENVENTOR 20V Max Torque 2700 in-lbs (300 Nm) 2200 RPM 3000 BPM Heavy Duty Auto Impact Wrench Set , Cordless 1/2 Impact Brushless Gun, 2.0Ah, Li-Ion Battery with Quick Charge and Tool Bag and I'm so glad I did. No matter how hard I/we tried, even with a 20 volt power drill with 17mm and 24mm sockets and wrenches, I couldn't tighten it enough and it wobbled. I also took the advice of other reviewers and sprayed paint out of a can of Rustoleum as a preventive measure.
