I like the simplicity and small size of this machine, but I would like even more if the machine actually works and doesn't eat up almost everything I gave it. I purchased this board game blank laminating item to replace my previous Scotch laminator which accidentally stopped working after a few years and minimal use. This machine from Revain Basics was easy to unpack, plug in and heat up. So far, so good. I placed the sheet music in the laminating pouch and lined it up to the correct size on the feeder. I was greeted with a soft crunch, and I noticed a crumpled edge on the finished sheet as it exited the machine. No problem, I thought, maybe I'll just shove the sheet music a little deeper in my pocket and try again. So I prepared a new score sheet and laminating pouch and heard more crunch. And then the cracking continued. Half of the bag was gone and curled up in the car. I turned off the machine, lifted the release lever and had to pull the partially laminated pouch out of the machine. I gave the car some time and tried again. And then I tried again. And then I tried to put 3m instead of 5m. And then they tried to put the bag in the feeder in another way. And then I tried an empty packet, and then I realized I was burning sheet music. And then they started trying to laminate blank sheets of paper into laminating bags. Every time, except the first time, the package rolled into the machine and had to be forcefully pulled out. I'm writing this review with an open window trying to get the burnt plastic smell out of my house. I will take a chance with another Scotch machine that will stop working after a few years and minimal use. At least it's an upgrade from a machine that doesn't work at all.
