Review on 🎥 Optimized Rand McNally Dash Cam 500 by Jesus Jenkins

I wish I could put a zero. For the record, I didn't buy from Revain. I bought on a TA truck but the review is true! Long post but worth it for anyone thinking of buying! I can say this after dealing with 2 unwanted cameras and 3 tech support people and having to buy another SD card. Let me start by saying I bought them. That's right YOU at several different TA Truckstops. Went to the truck both times following directions and still got a camera that didn't work! First problem with the camera: the SD card that came with the camera wouldn't format itself no matter what I did. This showed up on both the camera and the app on my phone. I called Rand McNally Technical Support. The rep told me I have a bad SD card so I could go to the store and buy another SD card for the camera. NO, not when I just bought that $200 product it was supposed to have. This is madness! So I took the camera back to TA and traded it in because I was like, okay, I'll try again because it's Rand McNally. so everything should be fine right? .nu guess again! This is anything but good! 😡Second camera: a little further. This time it said it was formatted in the app on my phone but not in the camera. I called tech support. This time the guy tells me it's because I'm trying to use the camera with an app on my phone. I have to format it with a computer (you know, because every trucker always has a computer!) Also, it's a micro SD card, so you'll need an SD card adapter to fit most laptops, and the camera won't supplied him (you know, because I always keep one handy in my truck!) anyway. call it stubbornness on my part or stupidity for not being willing to give up! I go back inside and buy an SD card adapter. I take out my laptop and follow the instructions. The app won't load on my laptop! 🤦‍♀️😡 Call tech support. He guides me through. Go through all the steps with him and guess what he will say if it still doesn't work!?!?! Right, the SD card is not working because it is not formatted properly, because. You guessed it. SD card is bad! So I can honestly say that I tried my best to try and get this product to work, but I just couldn't. Even with the help of 3 different Rand McNally tech support people and spending extra money on another SD card. So, long story. I recommend if you are thinking of buying this product, don't do it, just don't! To run. Don't go to ANY OTHER DVR! This product is NOT WORTH A HEADACHE OR LOST TIME. THIS IS HUM! 🤬 Also, I would like to add that while I was in TA returning a second unwanted camera, another driver returned a camera of the same type because the mount broke when he was putting it on the windshield, so let me repeat again . Rand McNally Dashcam 500 - pure junk! Advice to Rand McNally. I suspect that 99.9% of customers want a product that is ready to use. buy something else to make it work! 🤬
