So it was trial and error. When I received the polishing pad from 3M it was a great result. He polished out light scratches and removed oxidation just like he said. Just do yourself a favor and use 3M wool buffing pads, they are way better than others I've found. The mixture stays wet long enough to do what you need to do without the need for multiple passes. I was going to wax afterwards but it leaves wax after the compound burns off so I just towel buffed the wax and finished it off with my wax buffing pad.
