Review on ⚙️ Enhanced Performance Timken SP470200 Axle Bearing and Hub Assembly for improved results by Jero Fontaine

Revainrating 5 out of 5

fits perfectly 2002 Explorer XLT with ABS

The packaging was ok, not much foam or peanuts. , but then again, if you can drop it 3 feet and it breaks, you probably don't want to put it on your truck. Good build quality, the bearing proved to be much longer (deep) than the OEM I pulled out, compared, but this work was already 8 hours in the making and it was dark. The problem was not in the installation, but in the removal of the old one. Ford uses some sort of white thread lock that required a 2 foot break and all the body weight I could put into it to move 2 degrees or one click of a ratchet. However, I finally figured out "what to set on fire" and heat to loosen the screws. I burned the old assembly around the bolt with propane until it overheated with catastrophic results. After some time and tired, I accidentally lit the bolt in front (for clarity, the end can be seen sticking out of the car, the bolt head is behind) and noticed this when the smoke went - it turned out the smoke burned out, and that's a big difference. I don't do this every day and it's likely that everyone who comes here is the same in-house mechanic. so i hope this helps
