It's temporary settings for money!
I finally found a company that sells A+ grade heaters with a cord long enough to reach the plug! I set it to 78 degrees and when it was off I checked the temperature of the tank with a thermometer and it was exactly 78 degrees! Now I get 300 watts for my big tank.
