Didn't work but light came on when first turned on!

When I received and checked this, the light was working. I hooked up my iphone cable and a 13 watt lightbulb and I think the vaporizer draws around 15 amps which is around 2kW. and removed it in a place where it wasn't visible, but there was access to it. The electricity has been shut off in this area. We thought it was the switch box and checked, but there were no problems. So next I called an electrician to get more details on the issues (I don't work with electricians at all). Luckily the electrician came out and laughed because it was a trippy light, $20 late, but at least it wasn't anything serious or more labor intensive. It's just embarrassing. The cable is thick, but it's a cheap thing. As a former office manager who has worked with global companies on many IT issues, I cannot recommend this for, say, expensive computers or electronics. This is just my personal experience and I don't really know how reliable the company or the guarantee is, it's a good marketing strategy but I don't know how it holds up over time. As a fire survivor, this is an issue that should NOT be taken for granted. Like home insurance. Please be careful with the electrical devices you use.

Pros
  • LOW COST LONG POWER CORD SURGE PROTECTOR: This surge arrester has six NEMA 5 15R outlets, one of which is placed at the end to accommodate a bulky transformer without blocking adjacent outlets. The long 6-foot power cord acts as an extension cord to give you the ability to connect to distant outlets.
Cons
  • too stupid
