The new controller is well made and easy to install - if you know the secret screw in the center of the door under the right side of the armrest - you don't need to remove the speaker or the door handle either. Just peel off the plastic and avoid the black sticky glue - I inserted a piece of #17 wire in front of the rubber window seal, passed it under the glass and back up - the other end went through the top of the door. (by piercing it with a rag) and back down - and then I twisted the ends together - which kept the widowed glass from falling off when I took out the old regulator - attach the glass as high as you can so the new regulator can fit underneath. Mine failed at 142,000 miles on a 2002 Chevy Avalanche.
