Review on 🚀 YDEG-04 Yacht Devices Boat Engine Gateway: Volvo Penta, BRP Rotax & J1939 Engines to NMEA 2000 Marine Electronics Networks by Walter Velasquez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

An excellent device to transmit engine information to your GPS for less money than other options.

An excellent device for transmitting engine information to GPS. On a 2018 Volvo Penta v6-200, I had to unplug and rearrange the wires from the connector to connect to the Vodia connector, according to tech help. It's pretty easy, or buy a Volvo Easy Connect adapter for around $22. Ideal for determining the ideal cruising speed for fuel economy and evaluating the propeller. Used with simrad go7 and nmea starter kit (version 3t)

Pros
  • High voltage isolation between J1939 and NMEA 2000 interfaces; only listens to the J1939 network; J1939 data logging for diagnosis and tuning; comes with free diagnostic software for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X and Linux;
Cons
  • Difficult to say
