Whilst this is an exact replacement and I think it works well it will require complete disassembly of your vacuum as it is the main part. My original cracked in half. I have 2 DC14 and have been successfully replacing worn parts in them for many years. They have definitely paid off in the number of animals and people we've suckled in over 15 years of ownership.
