UPDATE: I have already bought and given away a number of Prismacolors. Then I skipped them because I love the colors so much! They do a great job and the color variety is very good for me so I've just received my second order. Sigh. I really LOVE her that much. The color scheme is way better than many kits that have a lot of darks, browns and grays that I just don't use. But there are a number of them - plenty for me. So collecting pencils is a by-product of this hobby! They can be compared very well with Prismacolors. Easy to lay down and have a nice color palette. Softer core than Crayolas and sharpens fairly well. I bought a KUM sharpener for my pencils and it works great with them. I'm having a hard time finding enough sets with mostly bright light colors so the large set gives me more of what I like but also lots of darker colors - at least this set isn't overloaded with greys, browns etc but you need to reorganize it in the case as the order of the pins in the case doesn't make sense to me. HAHHA It's easy to do. Very, very good value for money and a great addition to any pencil collection. The colors in this set are wonderful and as I said they compare VERY well to the lower priced prisms. Sometimes prisms are too soft for detail in some shots. When I do small original drawings, they are quite small, and pencils that are a little less soft are good for this scale.
