I initially liked these lights and they were so simple they didn't need an extra timer. However, when I took them off to save for the next Christmas season, I noticed that almost every lantern had rust on the inside. The water could get in and cause rust on the metal inside the lanterns, which would no doubt affect the light. I got them back and am now looking for a new winner for my home lighting.
