It still looks perfect from the outside but now has an internal break between the center conductors on the connectors. I've always tried not to pull at any point of use, bend the coax too much, or stress the ends of the connection, even when snapping on. radio and antenna coaxial cable or coaxial cable with SWR jumper; I even used a small box to put the LMR-240 ULTRA under the LMR-240 ULTRA coax cable to avoid stressing the adapter. I also used a belt clip on the HT and a special hanging strap. to keep it in a position so it doesn't stress the adapter connectors, especially the small (SMA) ones at the end of the radio. My guess is that there is friction in the connection there (crimp or something) and there is no soldering or welding, so the center conductor either breaks or gets pulled out and disconnected. for the intended purpose (first) BUT. .(NOTE: read cons).
