This was the BEST investment we've made for our older pup. This is a 10 year old Beagle (29 lbs) but she has had previous neck surgery and a shoulder injury so we have yet to get her within walking distance. Earlier when she was recovering from surgery I was looking for dog carts and could only find dog carts mostly for toy dogs under 15lbs. Back then (2010) I bought a regular stroller that could fold the seat flatter and carry up to 70 pounds. The problem is that when she's feeling better, she doesn't want to use a wheelchair and tries to jump out of the wheelchair because she wants to walk โ which is usually fine, but not if her physical activity is restricted by a doctor . Now I wish I'd spent the money on a regular stroller (which also makes us look a little crazy). But it's better than picking her up and then carrying her 29 pounds back, depending on how far the walk takes us. We were in New York for an event last weekend and I was concerned about leaving it at the hotel for the time being. most of the trip compared to taking her with us, but she was tired and ill. In the recent past I've checked from time to time to see if there are any new dog buggies on the market and have taken the search more seriously as our trip nears. I started to see other bike trailers/carts for heavier dogs (ie >15-20lbs) that were cheaper but many complaints about the bottom tier not being load bearing and also heavier and more uncomfortable to drive when collapsing is. it would be difficult. I stumbled across this one and while the price got me thinking, the reviews for this pendant were way better than others that were cheaper. Then I added the stroller's convertibility, light weight and easy folding and I thought why not bite the bullet and give it a try. It came quickly in 2 days (love Revain Prime!). I was very excited to put everything together that evening. We chose the two wheel version as the one wheel version seemed to stick out a lot, especially when we were going to an event and didn't want people to accidentally trip over it. Assembly wasn't too difficult - I found the instructions sufficient, but I might be a seasoned IKEA shopper :). It weighs around 25-30 pounds (about my dog's weight) and is easy to fold and pack for travel. she liked it. We made her journey easier by adding a box pillow to soften the floor, a stroller kit (2 wheels), a portable fan attached to poles in the top, her food and water bowls, and a stroller bag for mom and dad bought it. There are cup holders/space for our phone or sunscreen (see below for some links). When people walked by and saw her little figure, they were jealous and wanted to be her! Of course there were times when she sat and enjoyed and other times when she wanted to walk, but when she got tired she was happy to come back and ride. As mentioned, there is a slight tilt when the 2 wheels of the stroller are attached so that the front is higher than the back. When we first put her in the van or when she leans back in the stroller, she eventually clicks on the rear wheel. So we usually push them and don't let them intervene. Or if someone lets the dog step inside, be sure to hold them down. As others have mentioned, there is a wheel in the front that is airborne at times, but if she sits further forward, that wheel goes down. Our solution to getting them to sit in the middle was to put their food bowls towards the back. I also placed my bag/camera bag in front to weigh down the front. At her size, she had enough space to sit, lie down, or curl up anywhere. All 4 sides are ventilated and the front and back can be opened. The front flap has clips on both sides to close, while the back flap is larger and has elastic loops. Both the front and back have a plastic cover that we rolled up and fastened with velcro (supplied with 2 velcro loops on each flap). The stroller came with 2 front wheels and also this strap - and I didn't understand at first why we needed this strap which had a small loop on one end and a large loop that could fit around your wrist but I fitted it. anyway on the steering wheel. Turns out it was windy in New York last weekend! Several times the wind could push the stroller, so I was glad I had a loop to hang it up when I needed my hands free. bottom rail with 2 large brackets holding together the 2 rails that meet at the top of the carriage. When we were out and about, we ended up folding the stroller up and using it as a cart. Sure, I think some people put things in it when it's not destroyed, but we folded it up and put things on top, with the caveat that things on top shouldn't be too heavy for the structural bars. Since the crate didn't fit in the trolley but lay within the outline of the structural bars, it was perfect. We left the clutch on until we got the car. I took the handle off and threw the cart into the trunk of my SUV (Toyota 4Runner) with all the wheels fitting just over 1/2 of the trunk exactly perpendicular to the door (parallel to the car). I think some people take the bikes off but we were able to leave them and have a place to store our other luggage. told each other it was so worth the cost. Now we plan to take it out more during the week. Most of the weekdays she's been home alone all day, we come home and feed her and take her for a walk and then we say 'we'll be right back' and she looks so down that we leave. Now we can take them to the trails. Might as well end up hooking it up to a bike like it was originally intended :) Links to other products we've added to this van, plus photos from last weekend!.
