Review on πŸ–₯️ KENUCO Assembled 12U IT Network Server Data Rack: Wall Mount Cabinet Enclosure with Locking Door, 23-Inches Deep - Black by Gerald Hill

Better than expected

First of all, it seems like the manufacturer has grouped a number of different products it sells on one product page for clarity - this review is for a 23.6" lockable x- 23.6" x 12U cabinet. I have no experience with the other models listed on the site. This is the first product I have ever seen from KENUCO. Before that I had never heard of them. This product took quite a long time to be delivered after ordering. However, the reasons for the many delays in the delivery of the device are not clear to me. When it finally arrived it was packed in a very well padded and secure box. Great efforts have been made to ensure this product arrives safe and sound. The container was from the company itself, not Revain, so I thought it was worth mentioning. I had previously ordered a similar sized cabinet from Netgear which arrived in poor condition due to Netgear's poorly designed shipping container. this item. The metal used in this case is significantly thicker than Netgear's, making the product significantly heavier but also significantly more durable. This product is much closer to the "old school" characteristics of cabinets made 20 years ago. It was built to survive a level 9/11 catastrophe without damaging the contents. This quality is rarely seen in IT products these days. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to have the same quality with a handle or locking mechanism made from fairly thin sheet metal and plastic. The keys appear to be made of something like aluminum and flex very easily. As a result, the handle often "gets stuck" when trying to open it, and you end up having to access the hardware from side panels, which use a slightly better handle design. The front panel is made of fairly clear glass or plexiglass. I can't say which. It looks very attractive and makes it easy to read the indicators on the front of the device inside. There is absolutely no documentation, warranty or any other identifying document that comes with the cabinet. Not that it needs instructions as it comes fully assembled, but you might think it should include some documentation. Otherwise the closet is exactly what you would expect. It might not be as branded as Netgear, but it's built like a tank and well worth considering for use in data centers that demand the best when it comes to securing their gear. I don't really like the cheap handle or locking mechanism, but the rest of the cabinet is absolutely top notch.
