I needed to fit a bottle cage to a bike that only had mounts for one frame. After searching for a viable option, I found this system. At first glance it looked easy to put on, but my bike configuration wouldn't allow it to be placed on the seat tube as the cage already mounted on the down tube was too low. So with the flexibility of this versatile cage mount, I had two options: place it on the bottom of the down tube (which tends to make my bottle pick up a lot of road grime) or mount it on the bottom of the top tube, which is what I ended up with. The top tube mounted bottle cage made it difficult to transport on the bike rack, but as there was some room to move the cage I was able to fold the cage up so I could use the bike rack. (No problem if you're using a wheeled rack.) The movement of the cage also got in the way when riding, hence 4 stars. I found that the bottle cage rotated a bit and I had to make regular adjustments so it didn't get in the way of my pedaling. Other options for adding additional frames to a bike vary; Being a bike rider I didn't have room to mount a cage behind the seat and the others that attached to the seat tube looked too big and wouldn't have worked in my case anyway. This turned out to be the best option for my situation. Installation was fairly easy, but not without problems. At the same time, it didn't take a rocket scientist to attach it. If you find you need to add a second or third bottle cage to your trip, this would be my recommendation.
