I bought a dog instead of a tie that seemed too heavy, a standard cord (it's not a small 60 pounds just a princess) and a fabric cord that deteriorates in the sun. It is lighter than tie cord and more durable than cloth cord. I wouldn't recommend it as a harness for a dog that's chewing or trying to get off the leash, but it's perfect for my dog. I've had it for a month now, it's been outside the whole time, and so far it's holding up well. I have also used it as a longline for hiking and am very happy with it. It doesn't stick to things like cloth linen, and most of the dirt falls off when I put it away. It pulled well and when it wasn't snagging on something I could basically move it by manipulating the cord from the handle.
