Review on D.T. Systems H2O ADDON-O Orange Dog Training Receiver Collar by Jason Whitaker

Revainrating 5 out of 5

easy handling, great variety/flexibility for 3 dogs.

I have 3 labradors that I walk on the beach, on the street, etc. I can't use the leash(es) with all 3, they just get tangled and wrap around my legs. off leash, one dog is enough to pounce on me and they all set off in a race to get where they think they want to go. With these collars I can call them first and give them a chance to obey me before I can "reach out" a dog and just "hum" and usually that dog's instantaneous reaction is enough to make them all go stopping and returning to bring my feet. literally. I read about making an effort to get her attention. after that they don't all stand in front of me until i give them the command, that's fine. Trust me I'm not a professional trainer, just repeating myself. In case all dogs are going to do this with other dogs, if I can't get them back with just a buzzer/vibration I can give them a quick (or long) electric shock to really get their attention. and I can lower or raise the shock level to the lowest level needed to get her response. Transmitter, allows you to easily switch between the collars I "talk" to. however, he cannot "talk" with all three collars at the same time. Just use the slide switch to memorize which collar is in which position - left, center or right with your thumb, otherwise you'll likely keep hitting the shock button on the wrong dog and wondering why you can't get him to turn. Meanwhile, another poor dog is already lying at your feet, giving you his belly and wondering why you keep shocking him. be careful. I can have all 3 dogs sitting at my feet completely off leash and consciously focus on my command while the other hyperactive dogs lunge for their leashes, but mine won't budge an inch. I feel like I have the most obedient dogs in the world and it would be the other way around if they didn't wear a collar. Just by wearing collars, dogs change their "attitude" and tend to respond to verbal commands much better than when they are taken off the leash and not wearing a collar. I can also just collar 1 dog at home (and not even turn him on) when he barks and jumps at the front door/postman. it is a "mind alterer”. How can a penny when you're familiar with that old, boring version? I used the smaller DT collar and it was fine. but I prefer this model for its water resistance and easy charging. Range wasn't an issue for me, but I don't know how far they work. I don't let the dogs out of my line of sight, but it will do at least a few 100 feet.
